The Boatyard is where local sailors, fishermen and lovers of the Chesapeake enjoy pint drinks, great crab cakes and the freshest local seafood. Specialties include smoked fish of the day (on premise), cream of crab and Maryland crab soups and an extensive list of crab and seafood specialties. The First Lady came from the White House to enjoy our crab cakes. The Boatyard has the most extensive raw bar in the area including a variety of oysters, clams, shrimp and mussels. The Boatyard receives awards for being most family friendly and having the best burger on the Bay. Its weekend brunch is the best in the area. The Boatyard is located in the historic maritime district of Eastport-a short walk or water taxi from Annapolis City Docks. Its photo boat films the local sailing races and shows them nightly. Very nice place with interesting menu. Had a slight problem with the food but it was quickly rectified. Most staff lovely but one girl most unwelcoming. ...needs to smile more and act as if she really wants to be there. Made me feel very unwelcome.

Service was prompt and food was nice but due to the large area it was very cold by the windows. There was a sad lack of seafood which was disappointing for what we thought was a coastal seafood focused resturant. I had the wing of skate which was absolutely outstanding. The rest of the food was of a good standard. However, as always the price of desserts and starters were disproportionate to the cost of the mains and desserts especially minute. Good use of round tables so good for large groups and there was live music but at conversational level but overall used to be better

This is a place that thinks it's better than it is. The food is less an average. There are a mixture of very professional staff, to others who just are there in body but don't show that they really have an interest in the job that they do. Not a place I would recommend or return to, unless I knew the standards where going to meet the expectation of a good food restaurant that I hoped it was going to be.

Return visit to a very popular restaurant on the Thames Estuary in the old part of Leigh on Sea.As usual the food was excellent with both an al la carte and set menu. Portion size was more than acceptable with two of my party of 4 unable to eat all of their main course Service was good, fast and very polite and the food brought to the table in good time.Parking is not great but the restaurant has a small private car park no more than 30 yards from the entrancePrices are reasonable considering location and food qualityI will be going back before too long!!

We have been here several times and always regarded it as a treat. This time it was a real disappointment. We were greeted by a surly and unsmiling receptionist. We ordered a salmon dish. The potatoes were cold and the salmon was not properly cooked. We sent it back and we were told we would have to wait minutes. In fact we waited 25mins by which time we didn't care whether we ate or not. We were close to walking out. All a great shame.

Been there before and it was great - this time the service was terrible - we waited an hour for our meals and they were only served after we complained that other customers ordered after us but got their meals almost straight away. Food finally arrived cold and another wait for vegetables. Also had a Singer/pianist - back ground music is lovely but this was so loud we Cudnt speak to relatives we've not seen for months. I am normally a very generous tipper but the Waiter not impressed with tip on Sunday - lucky they even got a tip.Such a let down

Its OK. Food was nice but I have had better elsewhere. Pity really because people have have said a lot of good things about The Boatyard so I was expecting it be a bit above the rest. Nevermind.

The quality of the food was excellent and we both enjoyed our meals (Starter and main). Service was fine, and very pleasant. Our cocktails were plentiful and well made. The overall cost £74 for two (including Service) is perhaps on the high end of the spectrum, but well enjoyed the experience, and would go again.

Questions & Answers

The only 2 days we are closed is Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Absolutely!

We do not take reservations, it is first come first serve only. However, we do seat many large parties on a regular basis. We encourage people to call ahead to see what type of wait we might be on, and suggest someone in the party come to the restaurant to check in to start the wait.

We do not accept reservations. Please feel free to call in to estimate wait times. Usually one person in your party can check-in in person at the restaurant to get you on the list if there is a wait.

Small cramped lot that I somehow always find a spot in.

Hi Cyndi - our all killer, no filler crab cakes are always market price. Currently, today, it is $18.99 for a single crabcake, $19.99 for the crab cake sandwich which includes a side and $34.99 for the crab cake dinner which is 2 crab cakes plus 2 sides. Hope that helps!
